Fantastic Mr. Fox is in a word . . . fantastic

I'm going to start this post with a disclaimer: I am not a movie reviewer. It is not something I have ever really tried my hand at before, so please do not read this as a professional review. However, a couple weekends ago I went to see "Fantastic Mr. Fox" and it was too spectacular to not write about. So here are my thoughts on why you should put it on your must-see list . . .

When my parents asked what movie I was going to and I responded, they were both confused and didn't seem to know what I was talking about. Then the next day when they asked how it was and I could not stop raving about this seemingly unknown film, they were completely mystified. "But the commercials just didn't seem that great and they didn't really tell me what the movie was about . . ." they wondered out loud to me. I agreed with them, the commercials didn't do much for me either - but do not let the lackluster advertising stop you from going to the theater for this one.

If I could describe "Fantastic Mr. Fox" in one word . . . well, let's just say that it's impossible to describe it with only one word. The movie is splendid. Visually stimulating. Creative. Original. Hilarious. Adorable. I guess, maybe in a word it is fantastic. But let's not be too cliché here, we don't want to overuse fantastic.

Every single aspect of this movie worked. Wes Anderson's usual cast of characters worked perfectly as the voices - George Clooney blew me away as Mr. Fox. The stop motion animation was spectacular and brought the movie to life effortlessly. The music added to every scene and the colors were amazingly vibrant. The film never dragged, there was always something keeping your attention. Every single thing worked.

I don't even think this little post can do the movie justice, but hopefully it will convince at least two people (I'm not going to get my hopes up too high here) to go see it. Trust me it will be well worth your time. As soon as the film ended, I wanted to watch it again. In fact, I think I'm going to have to go see it again very soon.
